It's so beautiful to read words that resonate so much with how I'm feeling about this sort of selfish, privileged spirituality people are so willingly clinging to these days. I recently broke up with a person I otherwise deeply connected with, largely because of her privileged spiritual beliefs that were in direct opposition to what I believe. Imagine trying to build a relationship with someone who thinks people in horrid circumstances beyond their control not only attracted those circumstances, but their spirit actually NEEDS those circumstances to learn "lessons" of resilience, etc. Make it make sense.
Many months of the year, I work in a developing country in West Africa and no one can tell me that some of children/people I've met here in desperate situations have in some way attracted their circumstances or the country of their birth(be it in this life or a previous one) OR aren't working hard enough to attract something better. Talk less of this idea of "favor" from "God" or the universe. Yikes and geez! Thanks for sharing and creating space to reflect/share on this topic.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me Kristen! I'm sorry for the breakup you went through. But it's so beautiful you are able to stick to your integrity! ❤️ More people like you ❤️ everything you said. Yes. Wholeheartedly agree. Not to mention the reason why many people in these countries are in those conditions is colonization! It can drive one mad this whole discussion and people who just don't want to acknowledge it.
I love how you always show me another perspective to the one most people have. You are a gift Nadia🔥
So kind thank you!
Absolutely ADORE THIS!!!
Thank you for reading 🙏🏼
