I found this so difficult to write, not sure why! So thank you for saying this and sharing this space with me ❤️🙏🏼 is this your favourite part of traveling too?
This is what we were saying, it's a tricky topic because some folk *do* live for their hols. And I don't think any less of them for that IYKWIM. I do think some people need that escape, from their jobs, troubles etc. But if you've a more contented life and a comfortable home then that "escape" element of the holiday just isn't there and you're always comparing it to home. Your own bed, cutlery, the sounds, the smells etc. Maybe it's partly an age thing too 🤔
Ah I feel you expressed it perfectly, truly. I really love what I have, so I don't want to leave it ever :) I only travel if I must haha, for people I love, or to learn something new. But not to escape, not at all costs, just for the sake of having a 'holiday'
This is just so beautiful, Nadia! I understand why coming home is your favourite part of traveling. I've got to like rain in London too since I moved here more than a decade ago. I think my favourite part of traveling is just being present and curious. More than I can be on everydays. I guess it's because I haven't travelled that much yet. Maybe traveling will help me bring this back to everydays. 😊 Thank you! ❤️
I love this so much! Curiosity and presence, yes!!! Seems like a wasted opportunity to even leave the house without those, let alone the country! :) I hope you get to do even more of what you desire! X
Was talking about this with my girlfriend the other day since we are both not really happy anymore with the place we live in. And we crave a place where we want to go back to when we are on holiday or not even have the urge to leave for holidays... thanks for putting this into words!
I don't know......Your earlier work felt like you were gently flexing your muscles in a mirror. This was you flexing your biceps on a stage. There's a - intangible growth. I can't say what it is. I won't say what it is. But I know you probably feel it too. It could have been a book. I'd read it!
I was literally talking about this the other day with a friend. Thanks for putting it into such eloquent words.

Just stumbled upon this and realized there was a reply of yours from last year. Goodness gracious.

I hope you find that place! x
I think this one is my favourite. 💙
Oh that is beautiful. Why is that?

Exactly how I feel as well, the part about "am I lucky that the weather doesn't affect my mood?" made me laugh out loud because it's so me too!
